History of Christ Church Community Worship:
‘Christ Church Community Worship’ afternoon have grown in popularity ever since they started and developed into wonderful experiences in school for our children, our school and church community.
The afternoons offer a wonderful opportunity for parents, carers, staff, governors and members of the Church community to come together for afternoon tea. Cakes and scones are enjoyed by all and there is always a lovely atmosphere in the dining room and a real sense of community spirit.
Afternoon tea has always been followed by community Collective Worship in the main hall led by our pupils, accompanied by Reverend Paul. As always our wonderful children lead the singing with their favourite hymns and songs.
We are always grateful to those who come along; for their support in embracing the opportunity to strengthen our links with the Church and for their generous donations to our chosen charities throughout the year.
We always take the opportunity to ask those attending what Christ Church Community afternoons mean to them. This is what they say:
“Christ Church Community Afternoons means where family and friends get together to support the community.”
“An ideal opportunity to integrate with the wider Church community.”
“I think it’s an excellent way of integrating the whole community and it’s always a pleasure to share the service with the children. The cakes are good too!”
“Getting involved in my local community, meeting people and making new friends.”
“A chance to meet people and enjoy time with staff and children.”
“It’s good to meet the children and the people of the parish.”
